Governance-first technology radar

Technology decisions that stay accountable.

Suylo turns radar updates into a governed workflow. Every blip has an owner, every ring change requires rationale, and every decision is preserved in an immutable audit trail.

Why teams switch

Other tools publish a radar. This one governs it.

No owner

Nobody is accountable for stale or risky technology choices.

No rationale

Teams repeat debates because the original decision context is gone.

No workflow

Moving from Assess to Adopt is treated like editing a cell.

Governed workflow

From proposal to institutional memory.

01

Create the blip

Capture the technology, quadrant, ring, accountable owner, and the initial rationale in one governed workflow.

02

Move with intent

Ring changes require a written reason and editor changes flow through approval before the radar state changes.

03

Preserve the decision

Every update writes to an append-only history so teams can see who changed what, when, and why.

Product surface

Built for engineering governance, not annual publishing rituals.

OWNERSHIP

Every blip has one accountable owner.

  • -Owner is mandatory - not optional
  • -Ownership transfers are logged
  • -Owners get notified on changes
  • -Stale blips surface to their owner

MEMORY

Every decision preserved, forever.

  • -Append-only lifecycle record
  • -Searchable institutional memory
  • -Who changed what, when, and why
  • -Snapshot freeze for point-in-time audits

WORKFLOW

Ring changes need a rationale.

  • -Rationale mandatory for ring changes
  • -Editors propose - admins approve
  • -Approval decisions are logged
  • -Role-based access enforcement

INTELLIGENCE

AI-powered lifecycle predictions.

  • -Predictive ring movement modeling
  • -CVE severity overlay on radar
  • -Drift analysis between snapshots
  • -Obsolescence forecasting for hold items

ENTERPRISE

SSO, exports, and resource planning.

  • -SAML/OIDC via WorkOS with JIT provisioning
  • -Scheduled PDF/CSV/JSON exports
  • -Resource allocation heatmap
  • -Group-to-role mappings from IdP

EXPERIENCE

Keyboard-first, zero friction.

  • -Command palette (⌘K) for instant nav
  • -Global search with ring/quadrant/tag filters
  • -Dark/light theme with Carbon & Cobalt design
  • -Public shareable radar URL - no auth needed

FAQ

Answers for buyers and evaluators.

Is this just a radar visualization tool?

No. The radar is the visible output. The product is the governance workflow behind technology decisions: ownership, rationale, approvals, and history.

Can editors move blips directly between rings?

Editors can create and update blips, but ring changes go through an approval workflow. Admins review the request before the current radar state changes.

Can decision history be edited later?

No. Blip history is append-only. Corrections are made as new events, so the original decision trail remains intact.

What does the AI prediction feature do?

It models likely ring movements over a 24-month horizon based on blip history, velocity, and organizational patterns. Predictions include confidence scores and target quarters.

How does Enterprise SSO work?

SSO is powered by WorkOS (SAML/OIDC). Users are JIT-provisioned on first login, and IdP group memberships map to Suylo roles automatically.

Who is this for?

Built for CTOs, VP Engineering teams, enterprise architects, platform groups, and engineering organizations that need technology choices to be accountable.
